Troop 71190 Welcomes Troop 21417

We are happy to have Cadette & Junior Troop 21417
acting as Program Aides for our Troop
at our next meeting on
October 24, 2013.

Girl Scouts offer a variety of Awards to assist girls in developing their roles as leaders and mentors in their respective communities and circle of peers.

The Cadettes and Juniors of Troop 21417 will be leading the Troop Meeting in an effort to earn their Awards, we are so happy that we can help them with this wonderful achievement!

The Juniors will be working towards their Junior Aide Award.  Whereas the Cadette's will initially obtain their Leadership in Action Award and attend a second Troop Meeting in order to obtain their Program Aide Award.

What are these Awards and Badges?  What are there significance to the Girl Scouts?

Junior Aide Award Patch
This award offers girls an opportunity to develop leadership skills as they give service to their
Girl scout troop and the community.  The Junior Aide Award represents active assistance as a Junior Girl Scout, helping Brownie Girl Scouts bridge to Junior Girl Scouting.

Cadette Leadership in Action Award Badges
The LIA is a Mentoring Award given to Cadettes for by mentoring Brownie Girl Scouts through their Leadership Journeys.
Cadette Program Aide Award
The Program Aide experience is the largest teen leadership program for girls in Girl Scouts. Cadettes receive their Program Aide award by earning one Leadership in Action award, completing council-designed leadership course training, and working directly with younger girls. Program Aides are role models for younger girls and are inspired to earn their admiration. Through leadership of young Girl Scouts, teens also develop their peer-leadership and teamwork skills.
